Kilimanjaro Expedition

Tanzania | Summer 2026

In June 2026, a group of 12 ACU alumni, staff, and faculty will be traveling to Tanzania for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend 10 days climbing the African continent’s highest peak, exploring Tanzania’s stunning wildlife, and examining our faith and sense of calling in the second half of life.

Machu Picchu Expedition

Peru | Summer 2027

In the summer of 2027, a group of 12 ACU alumni, staff, and faculty will be traveling to Peru to spend 8+ days trekking across cloud rainforest and alpine grasslands, visiting some of the worlds most remote and stunning Inca ruins, and discovering more about the ways our faith transforms our day-to-day life and work. Along the way, we’ll have the opportunity to step away from your daily rhythms, learn from Peruvian Christian communities, and meet God in the midst of physical challenge, natural beauty, and meaningful reflection. As we hike through the Andes toward Machu Picchu, we’ll reflect on what it means to walk by faith—to trust God in uncertainty, to persevere when the path is steep, and to listen for His voice as we discern what comes next. Together, we’ll encounter some of Christian history’s most difficult stories and meditate together on how Christian identity inspires hospitality and deep relationship with the people and cultures of the world.

Everest Base Camp Expedition

Nepal | Summer 2028

In 2028, a group of ACU alumni adventurers will trek to the world’s most famous base camp. Along the way, we’ll reflect on how Nepali Buddhist traditions of pilgrimage, detachment, and mindfulness intersect with the Christian invitation to faith, surrender, and discipleship. We’ll walk with curiosity, humility, and hope—learning not just about another faith, but also about our own. This expedition won’t be for the faint of heart, but for those who dare the the rewards are great.

Jordan Desert Expedition

Jordan | Summer 2029

In 2029, a group of ACU alumni adventurers will join Dr. Cliff Barbarick and Mark Barneche on a trek from the Dana Highlands to Petra, the Wadi Rum, the Jordan River, and the Dead Sea. Along the way, we’ll explore the landscapes that have shaped biblical history and spiritual imagination for millennia. Together, we’ll learn about Christian, Jewish, and Islamic traditions, visit sacred sites, and revel in some of the world’s most stunning desert terrain. This journey is more than a hike—it’s a chance to rediscover your faith through pilgrimage, presence, and place. Come walk with us across the sands of history and wonder.
